My Lucid Dream: 07/01/2009

fireworks were great last night. well, not great actually. broomfield's fireworks show was one of the worst i've ever seen. they probably spent like $1k on everything. they had the lamest finale ever while westminster's finale, which was maybe 8 miles away, sounded like pearl harbor. i remember the one year at broomfield in maybe 2000 when shells of the fireworks were raining down on the crowd like frogs in magnolia. it was wild. i don't think i want to go back to broomfield fireworks again. although, they do have a fun city picnic, concert, and petting zoo crap that katie just loves. that might be hard to pass up. she rode a pony for the first time yesterday and had a blast. she did so good. she held on to the weird thing you hold. she patted the pony's mane. all good fun. we'll see what happens next year.

gonna hit up some more camping next weekend. probably going somewhere around georgetown and will climb grays and torreys on saturday. we'll see what happens. still need to get the permission slip signed by the wife. next weekend is the last time i'll be able to camp for a little while. i have family coming into town one weekend and then kim is leaving for new york soon. lucky her gets to go to the city for a week with her mom and sister. so i should say, lucky them. i think if kim goes to hard rock and gets us a glass then that would count toward our collection. i've never been to nyc and i really have no desire to go, so this could be our only chance to hit up that HR.

thunder and rain and lighting every frickin day for the past 3 months! well, that's what it seems like at least. good on my lawn. not good when i'm camping. the weather's actually been kind of nice though. cool mornings, warm around noon, rain/lightning/thunder in afternoon, cool down in evening. typical denver spring/early-summer i guess. however this pattern seems to be prolonging itself way into summer. it's gotta be global warming. or the recession. and michael's death. maybe summer is waiting for the funeral to happen.

oh man i don't want to go to work tomorrow. i get spoiled with these three and a half day weekend deals. and when i have something to look forward to the following weekend (such as camping) then it just makes the week drag worse than my step-dad's gay fresno friends. seriously. but the week will give me time to really myself for the trip. we'll see if it happens.
